Just got my May issue of YM and read the article on the test of lifebouy lights.
Interested in the choice of Plastimo and its performance. For interest
I checked the bulb in mine and noted it has 4 volts 0.46 A marked on it, but it has
5x 1.5 volt batteries which gives 7.5 volts. No wonder it gives a bright light
operating at nearly twice its rating. wonder how long it would last in a rough sea
Any comments?

I have had one of the fixed light Plastimos for about three years. The first one I bought came on at about 10 degrees of heel so went straight back to the shop. The current one has never been used in anger but I test it fairly frequently and it seems OK.
