Lifeboating Blog

Truly excellent Blog, thank you for posting the link!

I used to work in the design office at the RNLI HQ once upon a time, when the first FRP Merseys were just being introduced, and I can relate to that photo of you tucked up in the tiller flat - 'been there, and done that'....... and yes it is a tight squeeze!

And I (and all of my colleagues) received endless flack (good humoured of course) from the lifeboat crews about every aspect of the design and operation of these fine vessels - especially when 18 stone crew were expected to go into compartments designed for (relatively easy) access by Mr. 95% Man......

Thank you all for your kind comments. This is something that I have been intending to do for some time but never got round to. Hopefully it answers some questions and gives a deeper insight to life on a lifeboat crew.

Please pass the link on to anyone who might be interested!
