After exchanging life jackets and seeing our friends fly off on the Bristows 76 at 1931hrs from the platform, and hearing of the crash 1944hrs. Can I take this oppertunity to thank the Cromer lifeboat and the crews of the standby boats and their Ribs for working thro the night as search and rescue.
They are there for all of us boys and girls, I was in the radio room plotting and listening all night and am proud that we have such a tradition support it!

Hear hear.

It was a terrible tragedy. Deepest sympathy to the families - including young children I read - and friends of your colleagues who perished. Sitting here a few hundred miles away one feels pretty useless to be honest, apart from keeping up RNLI donations/membership, but deepest condolences all the same

Working offshore myself, the news of the crash yesterday is probably the thing that we all dread the most.

May I express my heartfelt sympathy to all those who have lost a friend or loved one, and also my thanks and appreciation to all those involved in the search and recovery operation

Sadly when a Helo goes in at that speed the result is a foregone conclusion and no doubt will eventually be attributed to a sudden mechanical failure.

It makes me feel awfully selfish when I think "There but for the grace of God........"

I hope that we can all spare a moment to feel for those who have lost someone in this tragic accident.

Chris
