Right well i received the units and am currently installing them. I am at the stage that i have both Base Stations together wired in. I followed the instructions to how to get the tags activated. Unfortunately i can only get one of the tags to flash green and without a churp from the base station (5 tags in total), I tried resetting the system and restarting the lifetag registeration but failed to get anything more. I have had an Alarm and a position of the Life Tag system sound on the GPS itself so i am prety sure i have it connected correctly on the yacht. The only other possible error is that i have both units (76ft yacht) running independently (Seatlak unit) of each other so is is wired with two series circuits apposed to a parallel circuit from the Seatalk panel. Any ideas, the unit must be run off of the GPS apposed to a stand alone system.
Also the two base Stations will be about 30feet apart when finally installed

cheers James

James,

If you are trying to run of Seatalk make sure you have wired the Seatalk to its own power supply. Seatalk will run of the chartplotters powersupply if you are only running a few items, but once you start to run more off it (ie Lifetags) you need to give the Seatalk its own powersupply as the powersupply supplied by the plotter won't be enough. (Just cut the red wire and put it to a DC distribution feed).

This was the cause of our Lifetag installation issues - but all sorted now. (We only have one base unit though).

Raymarine website has a good support section and they normally answer your questions pretty quickly.

Awesome wel ive got the system almost up and running just installing the 2nd base station on the flybridge so hopefully if all goes to plan it will start to work when i test it.

cheers Johny, i will have a look at power aswell I currently have a yellow light on the base station

I'm sure the manual tells you what the lights mean - to be honest my base station is mounted behind the the instrument panel so you can't see the lights.

First problem I found was that when I turned the chartplotter on it only had limited functionality - I spent ages pushing buttons and getting all the instructions out - then realised that the Lifetag had created an MOB situation and the chartplotter was just trying to send me back to pick up the MOB! This may or may not happen to you too first time you use it - just need to cancel the MOB and it reverts to working fine (haven't had this issue since - must have been an installation gremlin!)
