You've got this somewhat feared ruler of a nation of several million people, and he's sitting in a bunker somewhere in Iraq. After several direct strikes at bunkers where he was supposedly sitting at the time, he's either dead or alive. At the same time, if you talk to the right people, he's neither dead nor alive and both dead and alive.
At some point, US forces will open the bunker, and as of that moment he will suddenly have been either dead or alive the whole time.

It took billions of dollars, but the US Government has finally created a real life example that can be used to demonstrate the multiple states of Schrödinger's Cat.

Re: You don\'t fool us!

You can't give us all the highbrow existentialist gibberish whilst we're still getting over your engine dismantling cos you tried to start the boat in gear! Or, maybe you made up the twitish weekend story to try and appear more simple and down-to-earth like the rest of us. Alright, well, me anyway.

Re: I did NOT

try to start the engine in gear. Well, not very much in gear, anyway. It wasn't even in gear at all, it just thought it was, which is not the same thing at all.

Anyway, at least I can assemble an office chair...

This feared ruler. Is he the one that we sold billions of dollars worth of arms to,even tho we did not like him much.Mebbe it was only because he was giving a hard time to his next door neighbour who we did not like much either.
Still look on the good side, all those arms workers have got a vote.So whats a pork barrel senator to do.Always a chance to flog cluster bombs to both sides.? Innit

latest word is that he took advise from his mate bin larden and escaped on a donkey, so much for yank technology, 2 most wanted people, 2 strikes and 2 misses. Anybody in the far east want to buy a donkey?

I'm not swayed by this philosophical argument. Rather, I think it is a macroscale demonstration of Hesinberg's uncertainty principle - which is usually demonstrated only on microscale systems.

The state of the ruler (alive or dead) is demonstrably influenced by those observing the ruler. Indeed Iraq seems to have had a surfeit of these singularities as Chemical Ali demonstrated the same phenomenon.

Indeed closer to home we have the same instance of an observed singularity, Happy1 .. who probable had escaped from a parallel universe through a worm hole .. and now is lost .. an unheard ethereal voice of reason floating through the mists of time and distance .. will his EPIRB help him or does he need a donkey?

Re: Donkey

Don't remember seeing a donkey on any of his safety gear lists. He could be in real trouble now.

Any recommendations on online donkey suppliers? I feel I should order one (and probably a backup, too) to keep in the cabin.

Re: Donkey

may I suggest you will need small stable and a few palm leaves etc and with all the rest of that H1 type gear on board, having that chap who could walk on water around would be useful as well.

<hr width=100% size=1>/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif in memorium of H1.
