Finnaly got to LIBS today and after reading much about it on here I was not sure what to expect; Well I was pleasently surprised, thenumbers looked good, there was pleanty going on and we had a good day,

Excel has been knocked as a venue by many but it has space, lots of seats and food areas, wide walkways and good lighting, Couldent fault the venue. Plus for the first time I found the sales guys on the stands to be more than helpful. So for me a good general show

Thank goodness for Fairline, Princess and Sunseeker for great looking stands

busiest day by miles today.

Funny how all the people who can't fault the venue are on the east coast. For most it's in the wrong place.

Busiest Day

I can remember for years, so much so the till caught fire.....

Met a lot from the East Coast but bucket loads from the rest of the country (This is fact as I need their address to subscribe!) Yes its a pain in fact its not really a pain, I have commuted from Twick everyday in the worst weather i can remember for years and I still got there and got home. Drove at weekends through London took less than an hour.

Roll on tomorrow though...

Drove at weekends through London took less than an hour.

its only 20 miles from twickenham to excel. And you're pleased it takes less than an hour! It would take you 2 or 3 times that in the week, plus you'd have to pay the congestion charge.
You live in London but could get to Birmingham in the same time or southampton in half the time it takes you to get to excel in the week.
It's in the wrong place!

The 02 was in the wrong place till I actually got off my fat arse and tried it, turns out its the best music venue in the world.(quote NME, one of ours)

Excell is not the easiest but its not a real pain, I would not drive in week (but it would be cheaper) and I really could not get to bham in the same time, have you tried north bound M25 of late or the M3 for that matter!

Everywhere is a pain it just depends how much you want to go there, 100,000 people wanted to go to Excel and it felt like most wanted to go to our stand today!

Oh and yes we will be at bham...

We also got to LIBS today after an aborted trip on Wednesday, and given the stories on here about the place being empty, was surprised to find it positively buzzing.

We had the little one with us and had promised to take her onto a Sunseeker, and we got to their stand around 10:45. There were already queues to all boats, and a massive one for the Pred 108. Princess next door much quieter. What is it about Sunseeker than attracts the masses?

What was very noticeable was the lack of, erm, boats, compared to previous years. Anyhow, we had a good day, but we left earlier than planned as we'd had enough of the crowds. Yes really. The North hall in particular was absolutely packed in places :eek:

I went to LIBS last year and again this year and Loved every minute of it,except for 2 things; (1) When it gets very busy there is a lack of adquate seating at the eatieries, (2)Not enough Funds to buy a nice big boat,eg.Boarn Cruiser etc...I also went to B'ham last year and it had a good variety of canal/river boats.Been to Genoa boat show and next year it will be METS. It's worth making a weekend of it,see some boats, see the local attractions and get in a bit of shopping.

Went today and had a great time. Less boats than previous years but good nonetheless. Pretty busy too. Only minor griper was getting in the car park - seemed to take longer than usual due to different entrance as a consequence of the building work (East ca park)

Busyish

Day but quieter then I would have liked, still there are 1500 people with a magazine they did not have this morning.

Roll on Dusseldorf...Hall 16D22 (I think) for anyone visiting...
