Since I read Libby Purves' piece on the book by Peggie Hall (Feb YM page 25) I've waited for the rush of posts on Scuttlebutt ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, nothing.
Don't be embarrassed. Unless you are in politics, (your **** doesn't stink) or Royal (someone else does it for you) we all have the same problem. Stinky boats. Even mine
Don't get me wrong. I think boats should smell. But they should smell of boat. You know, that delicate mixture of Timber, diesel, paraffin, Stockholm tar, beeswax . varnish and tobacco?
But not sewage... never sewage. If you want sewage go to Calais.
Or Bilge. Not many bilges smell clean. Mine does. It reminds my mate of a flowering meadow (with just a hint of hot engine). That'll do me.
Libby is right, You should read Peggie's book..And buy white vinegar in bulk,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
