Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a couple of Lewmar OneTouch winch handles and am trying to decide between the Double Grip vs Power Grip vs Single Grip styles. The double grip looks a bit clumsy but aside from that has anyone tried them and found that any of the styles were less nice to use than the others ?

You can see the different styles on this web page. Just select the particular model from the drop down box.

Thanks,

Boo2

I have Power Grip 200mm, flexible for both single and double handed use.

I have tried both. I much prefer the ones with the yellow knob, single handed.

My reason is simple. I can use most winches on my boat single handed. If that is not enough then adding a second hand and still standing at the side is not the best way of getting more power. To apply more power I stand more over the winch and put two hands on the yellow knob. That really gets things moving.

You can double grip a single grip quite effectively and in a more compact way than the custom double grip.
Go Single!!

A big issue with double grip handles is the fact that they stand up much higher and are far more likely to catch lines, people etc.
