Lewmar size 2 Genoa track: compatible cars?

My Genoa track is Lewmar, size 2. It measures 30mm in width. Will other manufacturers' 32mm cars (eg Barton) fit on this track - and not come loose?

Just re-read your post, sounds like you have Ocean/NTR track if it's 30mm wide. Will leave full post below anyway as may help someone in the future!


It depends on the profile of the track.

If it's a T-shape profile, and 32mm across the top of the T, then any manufacturer's 32mm T-track car should fit.

If it's size 2 Ocean or NTR type track, which is this sort of shape..... )___(

then only a Lewmar NTR size 2 car will fit (With either slide rods or ball bearings, your choice) or an older Lewmar Ocean Size 2 car, if you can find a used one.

Perfect illustration, BTW. Yes, it's the Ocean size 2 track, 30mm wide with the concave rounded sides.

Not any help to the OP, but there is not one standard for T-tracks.
In 32mm, the top section of a Barton track is 5mm thick, whereas other tracks are 6mm thick.
So for instance, a Barton car will not fit on some tracks, without modifying the plastic inserts, but cars from Rutgerson, Pfeiffer or others might.
