We have the old style lewmar super hatches (late 70's) They have a simple locking tab on each handle - some of which are broken. Lewmar no long supply the locking part of the handle does anyone know of a source?

He does a lot of Lewmar refurbishment and if you'd spoken to Lewmar tech they'd probably have given you his name.

Thanks, I have tried lewmar tech and they did put me in touch with Patrick but neither can help. The locking mechanism is a very simple piece and i understand was added as an after thought once it was realised that the locking handles alone do not secure the hatch - safe from the sea but not a burglar - I do not want to go into too much detail here as to why the hatches are insecure.

Some owners use a piece of plastic pipe between the handles to secure them but I am hoping to find a source of the little tabs as the lewmar solution is better than a piece of pipe, especially as we have four young children and bits of pipe will be used as 'swords' or what ever.

I will try seateach

Thanks again
