Having dismantled my lewmar hatch I noticed that the two white plastic washers on the handles were on the same side of the perspex (underneath). The top of the perspex under the plastic dome had no washer and the persex is a bit worn. Should there be a washer on either side of the perspex or is it correct to have 2 on the underside?
They haven't leaked .....yet

no washers on top just "O" rings recessed into the handle that seal when the handle is closed tight assuming it has been adjusted correctly to tighten

As per the response from Sailorman.. I would have expected to see an o-ring in the recess in the bottom of the outer part.. but then we are guessing as to which particular Lewmar hatch you have.

That's definitely the o-ring showing.... and when they have worn flat like this example the plastic rubs against the hatch glazing making a perfectly circular indentation.

New o-rings and some lubricant and they'll be like new... Flat o-rings are also another source of water seeping in!

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Lewmar or a local motor factor, lube with silicone grease

I contacted Lewmar and they don't supply spares for that hatch anymore.
I thought it would be easy to find O rings but after numerious motor factors and DIY stores I gave up. Found exactly what I needed at Simplybearings.
I would never have believed they came in so many sizes If anyone else needs them, I got a pack of five
This is the item Oring Its a perfect fit. Reasonably priced and not a rip off on postage. Very quick delivery too.
The site also looks good for supply of Vbelts
