<span style="color:blue"> Hi Gurus,

During a crossing last week, the sheave of a Foot Block (I thought that they were called Turning Blocks) which feeds a genoa sheet to the main winch at the correct angle broke into 3 pieces.
It was 20 years old and had done 5 Atlantic crossings, so it did not owe me anything.

I have a major problem in replacing/repairing the block. Its cheeks are metal and there is a Stainless Pin holding the 'axle' for the sheeve whic is also stainless, I believe.

The nuts to which the block is bolted are, together with a backing plate, glassed into the hull and I therefore badly need to use the same holes if possible.
I have identified it as a Lewmar 19831400 No 3 with Delrin sheave. I am told that it is no longer supplied by Lewmar.

Is there anybody who stocks old Lewmar blocks?

Is it possible to have a Delrin Sheave made?
If so, how do I remove the stainless pin holding the axle which seems to be a stainless pipe?

Any advice or guidance from you Gurus would be very welcome.

Brendan
