Let\'s think of others less fortunate

We can start of this year with a thought for those who die each day of starvation. By clicking on the following sites, advertisers will donate food resources. It doesn't take long and may help to save a life - the life of child : one dies every 5 seconds.

What is the boating connection?

Absolutely none as far as I can see except that I know, when the chips are down - and we have seen it recently - there is a great closing of the ranks among boaters.

Re: Let\'s think of others less fortunate

Thanks for that. While not wanting to appear cynical, is there anything to confirm to us that all these are genuine before we pass them on?

Re: Let\'s think of others less fortunate

I cannot confirm that but nothing seems illogical. I found the list on a site that centralised charitable donations and I already knew and use "the hunger site".

Advertisers have realized the great potential of the internet and in 2006 advertising revenues were over $16 billion. In this maze this is a way of focusing attention for them and so there is a certain logic in the approach.

One might accuse them of being cynical but at least they make the donation.

Personnally I discount the risk and it only takes a few minutes each day.

Thanks Sybararite - what a refreshing change to read this amidst all the rest of the tush that passes for the Season of Goodwill

John

Thanks for this list - very good, and more than I knew about.

Happy New Year to you and yours.
