Les Bas-Sablons Marina, St Malo

Hi

We're planning on two weeks in the Channel Islands/Brittany area then a break of about 3 weeks then another two weeks. We need a marina where we can leave our Hallberg Rassy 36 and also reasonably close to an airport.

We've chosen St Malo (using Dinard airport) but need to chose a marina for the 3 week break. Les Bas-Sablons Marina looks right - anyone experience of this?

Nice safe marina with good tidal access. Extremely convenient for ferries (walking distance), short-ish taxi ride to Dinard airport. Not the cheapest place by any means. Berths at end of visitors pontoon ( near entrance) can get sloppy. If you're leaving the boat, moor closer to the shoreside end which is much better sheltered.

Basin Vaubin is much more restricted and you may have to raft up. It is more sheltered though - costs (as I recall) are the same as Sablons marina.

I've left boats unattended at both locations before without problems. Port staff are pretty good and will probably offer you discounted rate for unattended stay.
