Hi,
I have lived in Oxfordshire for 15 years and have decided its time for some thames boating rather than sailing.

I am looking for a mooring ideally between Goring and Wallingford, this is around 20mins from our home in Stadhampton.
Whilst there looks like there are places on the river, I am struggling to find contacts.
I have spoken to Sheriden Marine and tried Beatle and Wedge and looked online without success.
I did not really want to knock on farmers gates to ask!

We intend to moor a Fjord Selcruiser 27 on the river.
Not too fussyt with our mooring, we don’t need electric or water, but will need to park a car.

All help apreciated.
Regards
Martyn

If you have already tried Sheridian and B&W your only other chance is the farmer moorings just upstream next to Moulsford prep school, unfortunately I don't know the name of the contact. You could also try the The Leys at Clifton Hampden, Shillingford Bridge Hotel, Benson Cruisers, or the Swan at Streatley has few a moorings.
Probably a case of knocking on doors though as none will be internet visible.

Thank you for the suggestions.
Called down for a look around and try the pubs tonight, beer was great, sadly no help on moorings.
Knocking on doors is more difficult when you are unsure which farm owns what fields!
I think I need some local knowledge, I wonder if I would get any help from the lock keepers?
I think we will have to look further past Goring and also up to Benson.

Any other suggestions apreciated too

Find one person to ask and if no joy ask if they know of anyone else(I know that sounds a bit obvious but it worked for us). By the time we'd asked one person who had no space who gave us a number of someone else that was full, they gave us another number and thanks to that, we've been on the same private mooring for eleven years.

Good luck with your search.

You could try contacting Cleeve and Benson Locks directly. They both have a few lock island moorings. Not sure about availability but you might get lucky. My boat lives in the Cleeve reach so if I hear of anything I'll let you know.
