Truck Service .... they do batterys that power not only the engines to start - but also to run the hydraulic tail-lifts ... Now if thats not enough heavy duty for your boat ????
They are not that expensive for what you get either.

yes, the solent truck battery range are excellent value too - I've 3 x 170AH & a pair of 105's making up the house bank. Very little topping-up needed compared to previous ones.

Caravan shop leisure batteries for me; deep discharge is what you want not just loads of Ah.
First one I "googled" - http://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/cgi-bi...avan!Deep_Cycle

I used caravan batts as well - wouldn't try using for start of engine though ... but yes excellent. I changed to 2nd hands out of Scrap Dealers and they do well for a tenner ...... why ? Most are crashed cars and batts were fine in the car till scrapped ... scrappie has testers to sort good from bad ... bad are recycled, good are sold on to punters like me ! At the price if I wreck it by deep discharge a few too many times - go get another !

But the best are the truck tail-lift jobs ... plenty OOOOMPH ! and will discharge down quite low and recover.

Ah but for starting I use a small Red Devil AGM starting battery which has allowed me to add another deep discharge battery to my domestic side.......
