I am looking to change boats in the near future and have seen a boat whose looks appeal to me - a Leisure 27, circa 1979, fin keel. Looks a good dry boat, with fairly high topsides and deep cockpit. I've seen one or two in marinas, but have no knowledge of their sailing/sea-keeping qualities. Prices seem to vary between £15k and £19k. My main use would be cruising and occasionally joining in laid- back racing around the cans. Anyone out there care to offer opinions on them?

Hi,
I have never sailed one but a a person who births next door has one.
He rates them highly, for a small boat they are fast and seaworthy.
My only comment is that many have a petrol engine in.

I am sure other people on this board will help you out more, but it all counts.

A friend of mine has one for sale @ Port Edgar. Have sailed with him a few times - the boat was lovely to sail and full 6ft headroom throughout.

If you are looking at this boat would definately recommend it. The boat is his pride and joy and has not spared any expense. Even once the boat was up for sale he replaced one of the batteries because it wsn't quite right.

I was going to buy it until we decided that we might Sell up & Sail

PM if you want any more details.

Graham
