Lefkas Bridge

We came through on the hour a few days ago.

Edit
As it's now September I thought you might be right, but I can see the bridge from our cockpit and it just went up bang on the hour>

When we were through Levkas three weeks ago, there was a sign up saying that the 1100 & 1300 lifts weren't happening, but as I recall that was only a temporay interruption (for about a week as I recall) rather than a permanent thing. We've been through three or four times since, but never at the 1100/1300 times, so can't confirm for certain that they're happening again now.

Just to be pedantic, the bridge is apparently a ferry and definitely NOT a bridge - it says something like 'F/B santa Maria' on it; as I understand things, if it were a 'bridge', Levkas Island would lose it's 'island' status subsidies/tax breaks.

lefkada floating bridge

We got caught last year nearing the end of the season, along with several boats waiting to exit the cannal. 20 mins past the hr and I called them on the VHF to be advised they only open on the even hr. Me thinks it would have been nice had they called us up instead of just letting us hang arround.

I was surprised a couple of years ago when the bridge did not open on the hour. Like many of the other 15 boats waiting I decided to temporarily anchor for the hours wait. Unfortunately many of the boats tried to anchor downwind when the current was dominant force.
It seems many of the boats have never experienced any current. Even one of the boats motoring around needed fending off when it misjudged the current in front of our bow.
