LED\'s
I'm in the process of redoing the lighting in my cabin having replaced one of my batteries which went duff.
I had been considering LED's for some time and I have just bought 3 x cluster (9 LEDs in the cluster) LED's with a 15mm bayonet end, same bayonet fitting as a car indicator bulb - but LED.
THIS WEB SITE has a whole collection of LED lighting replacement bulbs and systems with a choice of fittings that you wouldn't believe possible. There is even a yacht / boat / caravan section and you can replace mast head, port & starboard, and cabin lights.
Be aware that the "bright white" ones are very bright. So much so that it casts a daylight type of light, rather than the usual yellow illumination that the human eye is used to from conventional bulbs. Standard bulbs, even Halogen look yellow in comparison. It does take some getting used to. Go for the highest power you can fit - it really doesn't matter when they only consume 2W. And they don't get hot, or even remotely warm, which I think is a good safety feature.
Err, no, I have no commercial connection with Ultraleds, and I fully realise that I am now beginning to sound as if I should be doing this post on PBO - now then, anyone interested in the tender I made from 1 squeezy bottle and two empty egg cartons... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
