Does anyone know of any led replacements for Aquasignal 526-156 deck floods? Mine use so much power that I'm wary of using them to go forward at night. I've spent a while searching and can only find rectangular led floods. Surely someone must have thought about using these newish high power (10 or 20W) leds in tractor headlight style housings (which is what I've read are used by aquasignal).

I'm considering buying a motor bike LED headlight to replace the floodlight the next time the mast comes down: www.banggood.com

I made these (may have been for a forumite, I forget) and charged about £25 total I think for all three lights; 2 spreaders and one to be fitted to mast.

They are 10W LEDs.

I have fitted these to a mate's boat too and after a year, they still work (but I covered all connections with contralube as well as liquid insulation tape).

I don't make them any more as there was no profit in it and I am rubbish at selling, but you may be able to make them yourself.

I've just fitted one of these replacement LED lamps and have to report that is it a significant improvement on the old filament bulb lamp. Much broader and brighter light and draws 1amp or so; best of both worlds!

Are they a direct replacement for the Aquasignal ones which are just held in by the small plastic tabs?

Yes, a couple of tabs, as you say, hold the light in place. The replacement lamp is not quite as securely held as the former
Sealed beam filament type but it is perfectly secure.
