Led light with batteries and motion detector on sale Lidl

8cm range?Worse than useless.

I don't think it's meant to be used like a motion-detecting garden light or whatever. It's to detect when the cupboard door is opened, a no-installation-required alternative for those too inept to fit an old-fashioned cupboard door switch. For that, you want short range so that it doesn't flash on and off as you move around near it.

At 8cm's range you'd have to actually get in the cupboard with it :D

Cheers for that, hope they have some locally. Sounds so much easier than maplins micro switches and led strip, which is the route I've been slowly going with lockers so far.

Looks like a good idea

May be possible to mount it so that it does not come on when the door is opened but does as soon as you reach into the cupboard.

For an outdoor or outbuilding solar powered LED flood light this one from Maplin might be of interest

Exactly what happens. Just bought a couple and fitted, comes with plastic clips & double sided. And batts. Mounted vertically inside the locker next to the door the light comes on when stick your hand in, sensor not great but it works and well worth 6 squid.

I should have got some more Mr Muscle while I was there, with some light on the subject the inside of those galley lockers could benefit from a bit of a wipe down....

Not Maplins again ....... :)
