I bought one of these lanterns though. Fantastic for £3. Only about 6" tall, so great for back up use.

Just checked in Aldi's Southampton branch - quite a few left, well made lanterns at a very good price. Would make a very good anchor light as well as being generally useful as a portable light source. The dimmer function is a useful addition as they are quite bright on full power.
