Pic of bulb/lamp marked 20w 12v.

Want to replace with LED, and am having difficulty wading through all the various sites, to find a straight plug in replacement. Don't want to be messing about with adapters or heaven forbid a soldering iron.

What search terms should I be using?

I could be wrong but when I was searching recently I realised that the bulb code referred to bayonet, diameter of base and number of contacts.

Yours looks like BA15S (bayonet 15mm single) so try BA15S 12V LED.

What a fabulous resource this forum is, that info has solved the problem, many thanks.

Try calling Bedazzled. I can't remember the number but it will come up with Google. Amazingly helpful, even to slow learners like me. Prices are good and delivery fast. No connection other than as a very satisfied customer.

If it has offset pins on the bayonet fitting, it will be a BAY15D which is the more usual bulb for nav lights. Be careful that in some BAY15D the negative is in the fitting not in the pins. The negative wire and positive wire being in the pins is the normal configuration for nav lights. It is not hard to alter by moving the negative wire on your nav light to the fitting.

Try HERE and go down the pictures.

I've had warm white bulbs from them (not for navigation) and very pleased with them, and so is her indoors.

Your bulb has inbuilt fuse and spike protector, I had to include them in the wiring but not a difficult job.
