They are waterproof and mine will be mounted under shelves for worktop illumination and in the engine compartment.

How do they do it?

Always amazes me. Even the postage from China is often less than it would cost second-class within the UK. All sorts of interesting LEDs on ebay .... I'm particularly impressed by the ones using the '5050' smd chips.

Others will be along soon telling us that these LEDs may 'overheat and catch fire' with the higher charging voltages on boats and should be avoided...... I only use my cabin lights when at anchor with the engine off

I bought some of these and fitted them under the bridgedeck , out in the weather and water, brilliant for drawing fish up to the boat at night !
An amazingly good deal with fairly quick delivery considering where they were posted from .
