Mrs D has accepted a new job in Kingsbridge, S. Devon, so after more than 50 years of sailing the Thames Estuary we shall be leaving Ramsholt, the Deben, and all you lovely people, and the tranquillity of the rivers and marshes, for the cleaner waters of the SW.
Preliminary indications are that the costs down West are utterly horrendous with waiting lists for municipal moorings long enough to see out my lifetime!
However, I have a positive indication of availability of a deep water swinging mooring for about only three times the gross of what Ramsholt costs, so fingers crossed.
It will be a huge wrench to leave Suffolk after all this time, particularly as I have had loads of time out and about this lovely summer since I retired in April.
