how many boats came out, cleared the Red By & proceeded out to round the safe water mark as well. 
I've been in and out several times this season and the shallowest bit seems to be adjacent to Oxley. AND the lump just inside North Weir point. Although by sticking close to the east shore (the Ness side) on the way out there was plenty of water plus a useful counter-eddy that propelled me past a boat 400m ahead, as though he was standing still--which I suppose he was with 4kts against him as opposed to the 0.2kts under me.
