After a fantastic time in India Liz and I will be slipping the lines and heading south. Should any of you have the chance to sail to India there is a marina in Cochin set in the most wonderful surroundings. Secure and safe, it is a great place to base yourself and travel inland. Sailing the coast is a bit more problematic, what with the plethora of fishing boats, all with their own lighting configurations, not to mention the administrative **** you have to deal with in each anchorage. However with the Maldives just down the road this area makes a great cruising ground to hang out for a season or two. I hope to update Noonsite sometime with a complete report on the state of sailing in India.

If any of you are on Facebook we'll be updating our adventures on our Followtheboat Facebook page, which you can find here: HERE. We'll still be updating the followtheboat blog blog too of course, as and when internet connection permits.

Fair winds!

I've been "Following the Boat" since you did the last Vasco Da Gamma which was 2010 / 2011. It is full of great photo's and interesting reading (podcasts not bad either). But surely you have only been in India 2 years?

3years ?

Is it really three years since you asked about heading down pirate alley ? That's scarey !

Thanks, Albert. We left Turkey in November 2009. Time does indeed fly by, but the funny thing is all the other people we sailed with went on to do lots more 1,000 mile passages whilst we stayed put. One boat even came back to India after visiting Malaysia!

We're racing around finishing off odd jobs and tackling very minor issues like the entire charging system, left to the last minute of course ;)
