Right - I am looking for the best ways to learn about construction and repair of wooden boats (carvel esp.) I am based in Portsmouth and work full time. Does anyone have any ideas about college courses or any other ways to learn? Any info will be most appreciated.

You could do what I did and buy a small yacht in need of repair. Mariposa is a Hillyard 2.5 tonner dating from 1953; which is about as small as a traditional plank on frame yacht comes.
