The valve on my Maxxon dinghy is leaking, from where the main body is attached to the tube fabric. Not sure if I should bodge it with Sikaflex/CT1 (I have some available), or if I should try to do a proper repair. I assume the main valve body is glued onto the fabric, but perhaps it's a mechanical connection? I tried unscrewing it, but no joy. There doesn't appear to be anywhere to locate any kind of proprietary wrench tool. I'm not sure even what kind of valve it is, the closest I've seen is an Achilles valve, but still looks a little different.

Any thoughts?

I used the guidance from Polymarine to do a valve replacement as well. It was in an XM inflatable and I didn't replace the valve with the exact same model, rather one which was available at the time. The nerve wracking bit was cutting the tube to remove the valve cage from inside it: has to be done as the valves are fitted before the tubes are fabricated, so the only way to remove the cage is to make a small cut in the tube to allow its removal and the insertion of a new cage. Otherwise easy to do, just follow the instructions.
Can't help on removing the valve in the first place: Polymarine may well be able to help if you email them.
