Leaking windows

The windows on my Macwester are of the old type that sit in a rubber mount like an old style car windscreen. The seals were apparantly replaced a couple of yers ago but still drip a bit in heavy rain. Would squirting sealant in between the rubber and the glass help and if so, what sealant?

If the leak is not major - try "Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack Cure". It worked for me - well my boat that is !!

you'll never get it apart to do the job properly in the future if you put sikka on it . I find dip-end-whip ideal for flowing down into crevices and it seems to do the job. I believe the offshore guys use it in a different guise on pipes -liquid PVC.

I re-fitted the windows and seals on my Leisure 17 recently which wasn't the big deal I thought it would be. The important thing is to use the correct size of rubber and to position the joint at the top of the window. I actually glued the rubber into a complete ring before insertion using superglue (which sticks rubber magnificantly). I used a small amount of Sika between the rubber and GRP and also between rubber and perspex. This may make subsequent dismantling difficult but I hope that is several years off!
The windows are 100% even in roughest weather after 4 years.
I would 'grasp the nettle' and replace them as subsequent addition of sealant is unlikely to solve the problem for long.

I take it that you sealed between rubber and grp and rubber and perspex on the outside?

Try the Captain Trolley leak cure first, easy to use and cheap.
If that won't do replace the rubber. By all means avoid using sikka. Don't ask why I know *sigh*

I used "seek n seel" that is available from classic car spares shops for a few quid

Another vote for Captain Tolley. Try multiple applications if the leak is severe, allowing time to set between each one.
