One the Plastimo polythene water bags on my boat has a very slight leak at the top of it.

Is there anything I can use to fix it? I would prefer a sovent glue and patch of some sort I think trying to melt or weld it over with a soldering iron might make things worse.

I have other options: not over filling it, the hole is right at the top, I could use stainless nut & bolt with suitable washers. It is one of two bags so its not a major problem.

I will replace tank as soon as possible.

Can't help with the fixing it (I suspect not much will stick to the plastic :( ), but when it comes to replacing, be aware that they sell the bladders separately and hence cheaper than the whole tank. I replaced mine when I bought the boat as I didn't know what might be growing in it.

Have you tried HAFIXS glue?
I bought some at last year's boat Show (Soham). Sticks just about everything - V V fast! May work; if it doesn't you'll know straight away and can wipe it off. DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR SKIN, or anything else you don't wasnt PERMANTLY stuck !!

Please let me know how you get on - just noticed I have a similar problem, but can't get at at the moment.

This worked for me-

My Plastimo bag sprung a leak, on a flat section, caused by chafe. Less than 5mm, not sure about your leak, or whether it is complicated by welds or fittings

I thought I had a scrap bag on my hands, so nothing to lose. My inner looks/feels like strong polythene. I cut a piece off the seam and used pound shop superglue to apply it as a patch- worked first time and still ok when the boat sold over a year later.
