Dear All,
I woke up this morning to find that the void under the galley sole had a couple of centimeters water in it.
As far as I can tell, I would seem that the water comes from where the immersion heater enters the boiler. The immersion heater is some 7 - 8 centimeters in diameter with wiring in the middle of the top end. The top itself is shaped as a bolt and my guess is that it is screwed into a 'collar' on the boiler side. My further guess is that there is a sealant between the collar and the bolt-shaped immersion heater, and that the sealant is now leaking. It's a bit difficult to get at without removing the boiler.
I hope my explanation wasn't too complicated, but can anyone confirm the construction or has anyone had similar grief with their boiler?
