My Primary filter a Parker Racor R12T leaks drops of diesel from the water extraction nozzle at the bottom of the glass bowl. All efforts to make the rubber plunger on this nozzle water tight appear to have failed. All is ultra clean so dirt or grit is not the problem. As a consequence air builds up in the fuel line and the engine fails after about 30 minutes running. Ten minutes spent bleeding the fuel line again before engine will work. Needless to say it is more than frustrating.Might it be an idea to just seal this bleed outlet with araldite as there is a second outlet that could be used to remove any water or dirt. I sent a email to Racor to see what they say, but interested to hear if anyone else has encountered similar problems with this filter? Advice as always much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you 100% sure the leak is from the bottom fitting? Sounds like it might be anywhere else above because all other leak points will lead to a drip forming there.

Wrap something absorbent around the element and repeat. See if it still drips from the bottom.

I've spent hours trying to fix a leak that didn't exist where I thought it did.

And if all else fails, get a new filter unit. Perhaps it has a hairline crack or something. The newer top loading units are brilliant and the filters are cheaper.
