How do I stop a keel stepped mast from leaking water into the bilge which has found it's way inside via halliard sheave boxes etc. After heavy rain and two weeks away I get a bucket full.

the best way to completely stop this happening>
1/ put your present yacht "on the market"
2/when sold >
3/ buy next boat & insist on a "deck-stepped mast" or buy mobo instead

Re: Leaking Mast - Can be sealed

Seldon masts have a foam pad positioned where the deck is. All cables are run in conduits which extend above and below this pad. Two holes are drilled either side of the mast about six inches above deck level and an amount of self leveling sealant injected in. To seal the foam. If this sealant covers holes take drill and angle up to free holes, any water coming in halyard sheeves etc runs out at deck level and not into bilges as the mast inside is now sealed at deck level with the sealant.
