In the forecabin of my 2003 Sun Odyssey 32 there is a stringer formed in the GRP about a foot below the deck. It also serves as a storage shelf, and a wooden fiddle rail is screwed to the shelf. You can see it here:

On one side only, I noticed yesterday a tiny dark patch of dampness around each of these countersunk screwholes.
The horrid thought is a deck join leak - possibly at a stanchion base - and water creeping down behind the foam backed(?) vinyl wall liner and escaping at the screw punctures. I find it a bit surprising it has spread to all of them along a 4ft length though and when you press the vinyl lining it doesn't feel soggy or particularly cold.
I wondered if anyone has had the same happen or can offer a more palatable explanation?
