Le Havre or Honfleur for customs check in

Departing from Channel Islands, we will need to check, in get passports stamped in France at La Havre or Honfleur.
Schengen check in to start our 90 days.
(The Seine to Paris, canals to Med, port hopping down Spain coast until we reach Gibraltar all in 90 days)

I expect La Havre being a ferry port would be the easier to find customs for passports stamping, but Honfleur would be the more convenient for us, if it’s not going to cause additional difficulties?

Has anyone checked in at Honfleur recently, was there any difficulties, got any advice?

I would call in at Cherbourg on your way past, had an email from them last year, very keen to get visitors.

Cherbourg as it is on the way from CI.s & one can pick the best tides past Barfleur & ride them all the way for a fast passage.Leave Cherbourg 4.5 hours after HW dover for best tides but being a MOBO you may have different views on that. To a yachtie like me It helps to be comfortable past Barfleur though
