LCD Suppliers

Have posted in "Wanted" section but more people read PBO.

I have an old Simrad autopilot and the LCD screen has gone. As it's 1996 vintage no one has any spares but as the pilot works perfectly still I dont want to spend thousands to replace the whole thing. It dawns on me that Simrad probably didn't make the LCD they bought it from a specialist component supplier. Are there any electronics buffs out there who know of a company that might be able to supply a replacement LCD?

These might be worth a try too. I used them for the first time this morning and found the service excellent. By digging into their website you'll find offices at Shamrock Quay and Lymington, though I used their Poole branch.

Both farnel and rs components can supply LCD screens. Sorry I can't help you more than that.

Get it out and see if you can find any part numbers. If it's a generic basic item it (or compatible parts) may still be sold. Google will find it if so.
