Laying down supper

Actually, my vote goes to ChattingLil for organising the Coot Fold Cup.

The origami was an excellent aside.

Thanks to all those who made it, as the weather was forecast as 'iffy'.

However, what a blast of a sail, both ways. I managed to get from Swin Spitway to Bridgemarsh in on tack, from close hauled to broad reach.
And I can't remember really needing sunglasses at the end of October for a long time.

Sorry I didn't make it to the dinner in the end. Rather fraught weekend in general, although I bashed down to Pye Fleet (water over the floor boards twice, sink outlet left on, and a blocked bilge pump), and anchored up about 1900. For various reasons wasn't in a very social mood, so stayed aboard.

Glad everyone had a good time, it was a cracking sail back on Sunday.

Our thanks to everyone who helped make this a very enjoyable evening. :D

I have to say that I thought the Colne staff tried very hard to make everything go as smoothly as they could.

Well done ALL!

We are hauling out on Tuesday, so look forward to seeing you all next year.

Regards Ian & Jo

yep, it was a brilliant weekend and just what I needed to end the 'official' season after a dodgy summer. The sail from the Spitway back home was - as Jim said - just wonderful, though I went a bit squiffy with the new buoyage over Buxey and went right over the top at almost low water instead of going around it as was my intention! The weather was just perfect.

Ditto accolades for CYC and chef, a perfect venue for us I thought.

And I even ran aground twice thereby officially becoming a true East Coaster. :D

The crew of Sirenia had a good time.
Very good food.
Great company.
Good sail to Brightlingsea.
Good motorsail back to the Deben.
Intresting crossing of the Deben Bar (see other post)

Thanks to Jim for organising and to Lisa for the paper mangling and airplane event.

Just need to sort the Fit-up do now.

Thank you Jim ,Lynn Lisa and Colne YC crew ,we had a great weekend ,lovely sail both ways.
Bit of real chart work required as chart plotter lost it fix all weekend .Just about remembered how to do that .
Interesting parking in the Marina in the dark .(glad nobody was looking!)
Proved sailmakers are no good at origami too, best offering was a crumpled piece of paper .:)
Seriously large fish served which only just fitted the plate, excellent food.

We are staying in a bit longer ,hoping to get some winter sailing,as missed out earlier being too busy .
Thanks again.

Fabulous weekend all round and what a great sail down the wallet AND back up - now not often that happens :). Just so brilliant to be back on the boat again after what seems like an eternity. A&E glued the ear that got walloped by the mainsheet during a well announced gybe: I must remember not to ... I must remember not to ... I must remember not to ...

Lovely to see George again and Paul M (Independence) on the way back to Shotley. Thanks to Neil, Matt and Charlotte for the great company and Jim of course for the organising.

Sorry to hear you needed to go to A&E for the ear, did'nt look too bad on the night. Did you fall out of bed and bang it again the next day?

Hadn't realised you had a table lashed to the mainsheet tackle.....
