Hi! We are laying down a boat in Holland. Are there any traditions or rites one should observe on this event? Your advise will be very appreciated.

Often the owner makes a little weld. Then the De Vries (or whoever) guys grind it off after you have gone, muttering "duif schiit" under their breath, and re do it properly

...........................................and go to the hospital, to have an arm, both legs and two inches of willie surgically removed!! Must less pain than the shipyard removing them!

I was worried there's going to be a lot of joking around my question. I haven't heard of any traditions myself (in Russia they break a bottel of champagne against the dlfjsf before sailing) but my friends bought a yacht and had so many problems with it so I would like to do everything as good as possible...
