I've trawled the forums to try and find the info I need but not really seen anything, sorry if this has been asked before.
Planning to move the yacht to Greece over three years, bit by bit. Phase one is to the above area then plan to lay up ashore untill thefollowing year, then through the canal to the Med. Indications from threads here suggest not much room in marinas etc but I wondered if lay up ashore over winter is easier? Does anyone have any info on places that we could haul out on the Gironde, or even in the Canal if we made some progress through?

There are moorings in the canal but these seem to be either fishing boats or summer moorings, in the winter it seems just the fishing boats. The harbour master is very helpful but I suspect a chance of wintering afloat in the marina is slim. You could try contacting a chap called Richard Hare at ,I think, Robertson's yard in Wood bridge, he had his boat in Mortange ashore for a couple of years and he may still have contacts there.
