From Blakes. However you can make your own using the sort of plug that fits in the bottom of a cheap Biro.

Blakes/Taylors/Lavac supply, but you can make one yourself, Blue Peter fashion.

You need the 'stopper' out of the top of a classic cheap clear-barreled ball pen - the stopper is the bit that shows what colour the ink in the pen is. Make a hole through the top of the stopper with a hot needle. Insert the stopper at the top of the loop of the outlet pipe. Hey presto, one Lavac syphon break. If it takes too long for the vacuum to decline, enlarge the hole slightly.

This sort of pen

Cor that was quick !! thanks for your replies . Is the "bic" plug just a push fit ? Or "glued"in .

The plugs are as far as I know just pushed in

If you have not seen it there is a Lavac manual on The BLT website

I did not know those pens were still available. I though the end plugs were now different ( Health and safety)

The air bleeds thingies are available as spares .. pricey though I expect.

Even easier: wrap a couple of turns of insulation tape over the hole and then puncture it with a pin. Works for me!

I thought the Lavac required one on the inlet pipe (only?).

Gosh you are right I missed that. Well spotted!

AIR BLEED GOES IN THE INLET PIPE.

If you put it in the outlet pipe it will spray effluent every where ... Its been done before.

Best if its accessible without too much difficulty .... just needs a clean now and then or you find it takes ages for the vacuum to go. You have to wait until you can lift the lid again and you end up with too much water left in the bowl.
