Thinking of an April Med Bareboat maybe this time in the Balearic Islands I've done this before in Greece but wonder how it will differ in these Spanish Islands. . There will be two of us both day skipper with UK and cross channel experience.

I will of course investigate this carefully but advice here is always welcome.

In April what weather has anyone experienced, normally I would anchor overnight but wonder if a marina would be more suitable so early in the season, do you get afternoon sea breezes?

Finally I've found a couple of charter companies but does anyone have any recommendations.

Thanks as always.

In my limited experience of only having been to Menorca....
Nautic Fun Menorca provided our boat - modern, well-kept Oceanis 35. Only issue was lack of charts and the pilot book was in Spanish only, but plotter was up to date and my wife speaks Spanish.
We were there in September rather than April. Only issue was a big swell from a passing storm elsewhere, and no wind. Not a great combination. Situation reversed after a couple of days.
If doing Menorca, plenty of very safe sheltered anchorages on the north of the island, but no so much on the south.
Menorca is not that different from what you'll find in Greece; med mooring on lazy lines in marinas, but marinas more expensive in peak season. Nice place to visit and sail around.

Been in two bareboat trips to Majorca. May 2010 we went up the east coast after having booked a night's stay in the Cabrera nature reserve. Hit a heavy storm after which the crew demanded a day's recovery without sailing. Hence in our week we only just made it to the north coast before heading back to Palma. In September 2015 in a week organised by a Catalan-speaking Brit (who had already organised us a week from Barcelona in 2007) we managed a complete clockwise circumnavigation, but did not go to Cabrera!

Given it was 7 years ago the yacht charter info may not be much use, but was:

I live in Ibiza much of my time. The weather in April should be good, plenty of sunshine and not too hot. A storm is possible, but unlikely in April. I live in St Eulalia, where there is an excellent marina, but I am told rather expensive. If you are still in Ibiza early May, there is a Medieval Fair which is worth going too. There are several places that you can moor off. If I can be of more use, do no hesitate to contact me

April likely to be very pleasant & low season prices Always a possibility of storms. (usually move through swiftly)
Most things open by April
May and Sept my favourite months to sail
Weather when kicks up usually eminates from Golf de Lions so Menorca sees the trail off / brunt NE Mallorca bit less, SE Mallorca less still & Ibiza more settled.
Loads of companies in Palma but Palma bay some might see as a scrum so maybe look at couple of German/ Swedish companies that operate from P Colom and East coast.
If considering Menorca English co in Mahon Menorca cruising.
Post Brexit I cant help any more Im sorry to say.
Its a great cruising ground - sea breeze yes - great anchorages if chosen well - marinas fine & can be surprisingly cheap & surprisingly expensive (look at ports ib)
(As stated above swell can as much a consideration as anything particularly in N /E )
The German (Swedes if still going)companies probably best bet but the post covid rationalisation continues i think

PM if helps
