Last try before i book the flat bed

I'm going to book the flatbed to move Flare in the morning and thought i would ask if anyone knows of a cheapish road trailer (Legal) that will take her . She is a Kestrel 22 drop keel . Just under 1 ton towing weight . Worth a try before i dip in to the Flare fund eh .

He moved a 20 foot poweboat on a trailer from Brighton to Poole for me he turned up on time and finished the job on his own, and he is pretty reasonable, he might even hire you the trailer if you have a car that can tow it.
 
I'm looking for a trailer to keep but thanks for the reply . I've got a flat bed with a crane to move her for £400 but thats £400 towards a road legal trailer or wood for Flare . It just seems such a waste of money getting her moved and then getting a trailer i thought i would ask here after hunting hi and low but i need to move her as storage charges are adding up /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
 
Thanks but i'm looking to BUY ONE TO KEEP . One thing i do know is i will never ever ever ever ever ever try and move a boat by road again !!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Gotta laugh or youd cry eh .
 
Why not build your own starting from caravan chassis or other braked trailer, i have done this for two seperate boats and quite rewarding

Try boats and outboards, a whole section on private trailer sales. I am looking for a trailer as well to bring my 26 footer home and cut down winter storage costs. Trouble is the weight but you should be okay.

I would like to buy a trailer that is road legal to move the boat i have shown in the above link . I do not want to do anything else other than buy a road legal trailer at this point in time . Thankyou for all the advice but i need to move this boat now and if no ROAD LEGAL TRAILER TO BUY is found by tomorrow then im booking the flat bed to move her .

I bought one from Hayling Trailers for a Sonata. I'd guess the cost at around £2k today. The alternative is s/hand but (a) you're likely to end up with something tatty and (b) it won't fit. A cheaper alternative would be a car trailer with lots of wood for chocking.

If having a trailer made to fit you'll need some hull lines so they can get the chocks in the right place.
