Last sail of the season this weekend, felt a bit sad as it may be our last sail aboard the Anderson.

Did some amateur mud dredging trying to stay in the channel out of Cardiff Barrage at low water.(Lifting keel saved a two hour wait.)Can I send a bill to the Harbour Authority for widening the channel?/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

We are considering getting a larger boat for next year. Our Anderson 22 is ideal for most of what we do but we are looking for a bit more space .Requirements are similar accomodation and price as a Westerly Centaur but with better sailing performance.Stongly built and seaworthy.

Twin keel or possibly lifting keel again.

Any suggestions??

Just happened to be glancing through the last PBO (November's) and saw the article about the Cobra, and a couple of similar boats.

Not sure about your size and price range, but may be of interest.

I don't think you would go far wrong with a Centaur as a family boat - they were and still are pretty popular for that very reason.

Let me know if there are any on the Southcoast you are interested in - would be happy to take a quick look to save you a journey.

Thanks for the offer to check out boats for us Nick ,We are still fairly undecided on what we are looking for and our present boat has to go first./forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Thanks to all for advise about different boats. When the time comes Ill be able to ask more specific questions about whatever boats we shortlist.

Problem is that our present boat has only one fault in that its a bit small for 4 of us for more than a weekend. It sails like a witch ,has looked after us in some very bad weather and floats in a puddle with the keel raised. But if we are going to continue sailing as a family then realistically she has to go.
