Just been out in one. Got the kite up in pretty daft winds and bugger me did we fly. That's the fastest I've ever been in a sail boat.

now you need to go try a Laser 5000, have a dabble in a 49'er, and then try an 18' skiff.... if you think the 2000 was quick, you'd **** yourself on the 18' skiff...

I've sailed an 18' skiff a fair few times, and I can assure you, they are absolutely awesome.... the power and speed is just quite unbelievable....

18 footers... Absolutely the best thing I've ever sailed or raced, by a long way. Although it can be quite inconvenient when another boat decides to tip over backwards in front of you when you're in mid-kite-hoist (see poor quality attachment)... I'm wearing the headcam (what a pain that was), pic was take in Pwllheli in 1997, the last time I sailed an 18 footer. Oddly enough that boat resurfaced on the market recently, for a lot less money than I paid for it in 1996!

Yup. We had one for 4 years before moving up to The Big Stuff.
