Well,

I have ended up in Panama City, what a great place. Popped out to a Marina off the causeway and saw this yacht. 5 Mins later having a look round. Never been on a large sportsfisher and although a very US fitout it was very Impressive. The master cabin is on the port side which is very unusual.

Here she is, Bertram 18m.

The best part is I have an invite to go out on her next time here!

Cheers

Paul

There are a couple of large Bertrams here similar to the one you have linked to - although the Viking Convertibles appear to be more popular now with the sports fishing crowd.
A 54C was the latest new arrival at Port St Charles here - http://www.vikingyachts.com/models/pages/overview.asp?numIdVal=54C

BTW, I understand that Viking and Princess have a very close relationship. All very fine vessels indeed, including Bertrams and Hatterae.

Bajan the relationship of Princess & Viking is only a commercial one, that is Viking distributed Princess Yachts in the USA
I think construction wise the USA vessel is built a lot better then Princess but not only, still these yachts are destined for a different purpose....

I like the look of these big battlewagons (as they're known in the US) myself and they're supposed to be good seaboats as well because they're designed for going well offshore to the fishing grounds. An Italian friend of mine has a big Hatteras sportsfisher and he raves about the quality and seakeeping compared to his previous Azimut. Interesting to hear your report if you get a ride in the Bertram
