Hello

Please can I have recommendations of boat storage and repairs in the south coast. I need a boat yard that will allow me to make DIY repairs but provide professional skills e.g. blasting and spraying, welding, teak deck work.
The boat is a 67 foot steel ketch, 55 tons, 9 ft draft.

Try here http://www.gaffersandluggers.co.uk/. I know it is a long way from Weymouth, but you could always go and have a look at them.

My boat (GRP) is laid-up there, and I know there is nothing they can't turn a hand to.

They have had steel houseboats in there for maintenance as well as traditional and historic boats.

Security is very good, as they live on-site

Quay Lane Boatyard, Quay lane, Hardway Gosport. Tel 02392524214.
I have completely refiited a boat there over the winter, and they are happy with DIY, but have the expertise to rerig, reengine, refit, reupholster, and re anything else you want. Friendly crowd, but quick with the banter..
Not sure about the 9ft draft however as 6ft draft needs spring tides to launch/recover

Dartside Quay (MDL) at Galmpton on the River Dart have the facilities you need. Coded welders, blast bay, 65 ton travel hoist, and woodworking skills, plus riggers, electronics, engineers, etc. Not cheap and you need the patience of a saint sometimes waiting for people to condescend to quote for the work. Their website is www.dartside-quay.co.uk
