Just passing on this plea from one of the Around Alone competitors - here is an excerpt from his message on the www.aroundalone.com web site:

"...I'm going to give this key*oard another shot of salt-killer and pray it works. Anyone who has a Pentium 2 or newer laptop that they would like to donate to the program, don't delay - call Cheri Kent at 262-695-7363 or e-mail her at cheri.kent@everesthorizontal.com . We need it in England right away!

Gotta go keep that hammer down as well. Should *e al*e to see the light at *ishop Rock very soon! Tomorrow, let's hope the *reakfast Update originates from land!

Thanks for the suggestion - I passed it on along with the suggestion of getting one of those industrial/shop covers for it and got the following reply:

"good call on the keyboard idea. He mentioned the "skin" when he
called. Great thought too. Why we didn' do that before is beyond me.
Guess the craziness got in the way! Thanks for the ideas, we'll do

went on board ocean planet, he has tiwinscreens, one for each tack but get this- he uses a cordless keyboard on his lap. what are the chances of that surviving a rough passage!?
