Lapping in a Prop

I have purchased a new prop and been advised to lap it onto the shaft to avoid vibration and other nasties.

Is there an alternative to Prussian Blue that I might find around the house ? Am having trouble getting it .

Any other tips would be most welcome.

I have found black felt tip useful, for the lack of engineers blue.

However would be suprised the new prop needs lapping.

Put a little smooth grinding paste on shaft, rotate prop on shaft clockwise then anti-clockwise a few times, remove clean all parts thoroughly, bearing area should show up in prop. boss. Does`nt take long.
