I have read the previous posts about folding bikes and can see that Bromptons come out on top time & time again. BUT I am not prepared to spend that much.
I like the look of the LandRover City Lite bike: 20inch wheels, Aluminium, light, folds small, costs £200-£250.
Has anyone any experience of these? Or any recommendation for a similar bike - in the same price range?

My main criteria are: 20 inch wheels, light weight, preferably aluminium, folds small and easily, cost no more than £250.

Have a look at the basic dahon which you could probably pick one up in a sale for your price bracket. I have used one for three years and have had no major issues with it after racking up a few thousand miles. Admittedly it now needs a bit of money spent on it but it's been reliable. I can't offer any opinion on the landrover bike though.

If its built by Land Rover you will get bubbling paint work due to bi metalic action and the drivers window will leak /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

NDH, is that your landy by any chance that i park next to in Haslar then, Mines the silver one, full of junk that had 3 new gearboxes in its short life /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

And, if you are as forgetful as Dave-T25, you can lose your cat in it for 4 days.
Son n°1 has a cost-a-packet Brompton, and is happy
Popeye has a bought-in-sale Dahon, and is ecstatic

I luv em really,

And in 60 years you would have thought they could have cured the door leaks, on my 4th defender now and everyone leaks in the same place

I thought that ALL Land Rovers had the gearbox replaced at regular intervals, just to maintain the male-bonding with the service staff and to get some miles onto the loan cars.

We have one Dahon (Compass24 version) and a Daewoo which is indestructible. Both live in sailbags either in a cockpit locker or on longer trips, on a quarter cabin berth. No problems with either and the 16in wheels are perfectly adequate for "Land tenders"
